Iraq: “A Task that is From God”?

I’m not a fan of Governor Palin, at least not as a vice presidential candidate, anyway. I’ll establish here in case I haven’t done so already that I believe Senator McCain broke his promise and betrayed his campaign slogan of “Country First” when he made an obvious and undeniable PR choice for his running [...]

MEDIA BASH BARACK (NOT A TYPO)
Study Finds Obama Faring Worse On TV News Than McCain
Since the primaries ended, on-air evaluations of Barack Obama have been 72% negative (vs. 28% positive). That’s worse than John McCain’s coverage, which has been 57% negative (vs. 43% positive) during the same time period.

I’ve had FNC on the TV for about an hour and they’ve rolled this video twice – with considerable praise from the three morning anchors. But each time they curiously omitted the frst 20 seconds of the video, with no mention of the missing content.
Is it Really That Difficult?

Picked up yesterday by TV Newser. As noted, FOX & Friends cohost Steve Doocy picked up the error and apologized for it about 45 minutes after it aired. I can understand the occassional verbal Obama/Osama slipup. I even expect it. But a chyron? I don’t ever recall typing Obama when [...]

Hip hop star Nas joined about 50 protestors outside FOX News HQ yesterday to deliver over 600,000 signitures demanding that “FOX stop their racist attacks on the Obama family and on black Americans”.
Stephen Colbert was all over it yesterday:
On Converging Foreign Policies

Much has been made in the past few days on the supposed recent or current converging of competing Iraq policies.
One significant item I came across, which I can’t find anyplace else is this account of Terry Moran’s interview with Barack Obama, part of which was played on Nightline yesterday. AFP reports the following, [...]

The NY Times committed what might be their most egregious error in judgement since putting Jayson Blair on the fast track up the newsroom ladder. It was announced today that they rejected an Op-Ed piece submitted by John McCain, which he wrote in responce to an Obama Op-Ed the Times ran last week.
In an [...]
Jon Stewart on What Obama Should Have Said

I’m running into trouble embedding Comedy Central’s video format so I’ll just link the clip here.
Now, to be fair, that New Yorker cover did put Obama in a tough spot. Let’s not dismiss that most polls that ask still have 10% or more respondants indicating they believe Obama is a Muslim. Obama has [...]

Two cases in point regarding the media’s ignorance of McCain’s recent blatant foibles:
1. Mark Halperin of Time Magazine declares Republicans “Winner of the Week” in his “Campaign Scorcard
2. The New York Daily News assesses McCain’s week as fair (two “up arrows”, two “down arrows” and one “middle ground”).
Fortunately, the blogosphere has kept better tabs on events.

Max Bergmann at The Huffington Post
This is the week that should have effectively ended John McCain’s efforts to become the next president of the United States. But you wouldn’t know it if you watched any of the mainstream media outlets or followed political reporting in the major newspapers.
During this past week: McCain called the [...]
